LMHO (Laugh my heart out!) You are tooooooo funny! First of all, IF you want to fix her splayed legs you will use approx 1/2" straw with a small rubber band coming out both sides and then put them around her legs. And second, I will gladly add her to my brood. I am feeding one and we have it down to a system every two hours now - I am wondering if SC has wry neck or splayed legs. I am pretty sure her foot is deformed but then she is hoping around. And that stupid neck lays to her left so it is difficult for her to balance unless she is in my hand and then she sits firmly on both feet. She is getting stronger and sucks up the Vit E and Polyvisol, along with spongy feed and water from the dropper. She knows what to do. And she is pecking and getting a couple of chick feed in her mouth when I lay it on the brooder floor. But hey! FREE birdies! I will take her and get a stint on those legs right away. IF you want me to come get her I need to do it very soon tonight as I have a 7:00 meeting in Elk River. Just say the word and I am on my way.
I definitely do not want to hatch eggs because I do not have an interest in breeding them and at the cost of chicks (especially when they are free) why would I work on hatching eggs and the expense in the equipment.
Either way - I have room for her.The Tractor store in Elk River gets chicks in on Saturday. They never know what they will get before they come in. I have a 9:00 quilt meeting in Rogers and am going to stop to see what they get. Just to see.........
