Any suggestions for what to put, and what you would need in a chick run. We're tearing down my chicken run and making a 8x5 chick run instead, I already have rabbit cages, that I used for my show rabbits that are very sturdy, made out of wood everywhere except the bottom and one side. I have plenty of chick supplies etc.
I'm just looking for fun ideas, and ways to help chick proof

LauraHope thank you for popping by. For sale items are posted in different section of BYC. If you want to stay and chat other things Minnesotan that is good and welcome.

You can't delete posts but you can edit them with the little pencil icon at the bottom of your post. There are some instructions on how to use BYC on the home page or typing something to that effect in the search bar. I don't believe threads can be completely deleted either unless request made to administrator.

Good morning all. Morning chores are done, two mallard pairs lit from our pot hole when I walked back to the house. The ice has sunk on potholes & the small lake by the school forest. This rain has done it's damage. Yay. My septic mound is green and 7 chickens are out grazing greens.

Awesome! What hatchery did you go through?
I went through Welp Hatchery in Bancroft Iowa, this is our second year going through them and the first year we had no deaths on the shipment, but they didn't last long because there was a fox that ate 4 of the 7 that we had ordered through Mark's Fleet Supply in Perham. In Perham, you didn't need the hatcheries minimum, they would bulk order them so that is why we got 7 instead of 25 last year.

Ivie. I have a barred rock hen who broke her beak off even with her head and she was just fine. She still eats and lays like everyone else. She is one of those stay here forever hens like Zeus the forever rooster.

I'm thinking of making a facebook page of my chickens, but I can't think of a name for my coop.. Any suggestions.
I want fun things like Fort Lewis and Cluck.
We call our ranch Peach Tree Acres, even though we don't grow peaches, so it would be cool if I could name it after that
