Surviving Minnesota!

Its called W I S D O M. Holmes, you have been given the gift of Wisdom and probably discernment. They kind of go hand-in-hand. And it just occurred to me that you are -
what? 17 or 18 years old now? My oldest grandson is 16.  That's it! Signing off for now - feeling too old to play at the computer all morning long.

I am barely younger than your grandson. Thanks :D

I lost one of my Blue Cochins to a fox.....

now I have to keep them all locked in the run all day while I am at work. Everyone around here says I have to kill the fox or I will never get rid of him. I don't want to kill the fox and I don't want to lose anymore chickens. I am now dumping all our dog poop on the outside of our hotwire in an attempt to scare him away

Sorry for your loss...

Ask around there's bound to be someone looking for a nice fix pelt

Ivie glad you surfaced.

Okay Erlibird...I wanted to go to Brainerd tomorrow...I'm not like the looks of the police officer protecting citizens from icy roads. I need chicken feed, bedding, dog food...and the usual Tide, garbage bag, Dishwasher powder, Toilet Paper run. I think I might bite the bullet and buy local albeit it costs more and have a Walmart order delivered to my front door for some of the other stuff. My butt is staying home. Yuck...Ice. Tons of People do that around here. Our UPS man is a saint. But the 50 lb bags of dog food, toilet paper and such that get delivered here in this town is amazing. Shipping is free after $50. And 1/2 tank of Gas is $20. I will snuggle in.

Oh shoot I wanted yarn to finish my sock....

Will have to think about it now...

@lvie , I live in East Bethel. I think you ladies are a bit far away. Does girls luncheon include vodka and bacon? If so, I may be willing to drive =)

They sell Big Gingers at the Xcel - there's actually a Big Ginger bar. The last Hockey game we went to I may have had a bit more than my share of whiskey. I kept all of the MN Wild plastic cups they give the drinks to you in. My purse bag thing smelled like ginger ale and whiskey until its 3rd wash. Needless to say, our cup cupboard has like 10 MN Wild plastic cups floating around at the moment.

We could dress up Mr. T for Holms' wedding. Put him in an Angry Birds costume or something.

Actually, I live in Big Lake. Pretty close to you.

I took the dogs for a walk.

I have had to tighten my belt one more notch after all the walking I have been doing.

Then I left my 25 year old, old canvas green coat I wear for chicken duty on, changed out of my walking boots into my chicken boots, put on plastic gloves and picked up the Blu Kote and dusting powder and went out to the coop to recoat the hens. I have two blue spots - small ones - on my fingers. There must have been a pin hole in the right plastic glove. No one can say that I have to be told twice. Was that you Mnchickmom that let your son help you? I D K.

So far today - 15 eggs. They like this weather. And the pullets have begun to lay. one RIR in full molt (about the last two months) and a BA going into one.
