Ok here is what I found out . Purified water / nursery water is indistinguishable from distilled water . Just different method to remove minerals , ions etc . So we bought nursery water yesterday as there was plenty of that .

Alexa and Alison (new girlfriends) are adjusting well. I am afraid Accident will need some counseling in the near future for how many times he has been rejected and squealed at.

I will have to check the distilled water out when I do my errands at lunch time.

Tonight, we will have our first meeting for poultry knowledge bowl for our local 4H. this could prove to be exciting with both children on the same team. Please say a prayer for Irene the Knowledge Bowl Adult leader.

We had to convert to the foamy for a hatcher for this batch of chicks due today, foamy is set up in my laundry room instead of the hatching room in our coop. It is a curse to have the hatcher set up so close to humans. I am constantly checking on it. For my sanity I hope the Fed Ex delivery that is scheduled for today, actually shows up with my new heating element.

BTW....Your Husband was correct...I do have a spare heating element........ Of course, what would we expect but the Him to be correct over the her....

Well low and behold someone is a big girl now (I just have no idea who or when). It's been a couple days since I went out to the coop but since it's 40F today I went to let the chickens out. And found this! Our first egg. I have no idea how old it is or if it's froze or what. And of course it was not in the nesting box and my bedding is really deep so who knows if there's any more hiding. But yay! Guess I'm checking the coop a couple times a day now instead of just spying on them from the camera.

I am currently watching one of the hens on the web cam. I hear the rooster freaking out and noticed she went running by herself back to the coop. She's jumping in and out of the nesting boxes and wandering around. Perhaps I'll be getting a second egg today.

Nope, I talked to some mutual friends of hers and she is just busy and spending a lot of time in Aitkin...
