Surviving Minnesota!

I can't believe he let you "pet" him that much! Great taming!

He was able to do this because I treated him with special love and respect his entire life. I could go into their pen and just call "dom's front and center" and they would run to me feet... lying-face_1f925.png

Holm he looks good in the video, except for that large wattle. I sure hope I can get that eliminated this year.

I did not see my "OLD" rooster yesterday that the Buckeye replaced. I will have to spend a day looking through the pole barn to see if I have a dead toad somewhere.

I knew I should have taken his head and made "hot dish meat" out of him.

You train your roosters well! I had to lock him up for a few days as I had never seen a rooster so rambunctious to breed... I’m pretty sure if chickens had laws on rape he would be doing life right now as he is willing to breed just about anything... I think I may put him in with the layer flock for a few days to settle down... I would hate to lock him up with just one Dom Pullet right now as I’m worried he may breed her to death...

Hopefully your Toad is just in hiding! Tomorrow will be nice so maybe you could have a butcher day tomorrow? Or maybe you should catch some fish while it’s nice and butcher him inside on a colder day? I’m sure Judy would approve?

Terrible picture but here is a picture of my prototype roll away nestbox. I hope it works... We will see later today I guess... I had a Buckeye Cockerel in with then hens so they should all be bred and then I AIed a poor colored Buckeye that’s laying to the Toad Cockerel.. I was gonna just lock them up together but decided to just AI them because of how big this Toad is already...
