Surviving Minnesota!

Yesterday our Pitbull, Louis came inside with a puncture wound by his shoulder that was about 4-5 inches deep... We are still trying to figure out what could have happened but have found nothing. There is nothing back there that could have caused such a big deep puncture... When I brought him in I told the vet he got cut on something hit after the stitches were done the vet told me it was a very serious puncture... Now I’m not saying someone did this but I find it odd that our dog was outside going potty and hadn’t been out for even two minutes and came back with a almost life threatening injury. I wish I would have taken pictures of the wound.. the wound went in at a point like a knife and was wide... It just seems odd... We are living in town and we have some weird neighbors.... Idk... All the missing skin also have me confused... We couldn’t find anything anywhere...

Oh, I hope Louis just did something stupid. It makes me so sad when I think people are that awful. (Yeah, I still tend to want to give the benefit of the doubt until it's proven that I shouldn't. I was told by a police officer friend that I'd never make it as a cop - I'd get shot my first day out.)

My dog, Ruger, came home last April with a huge open wound in the groin area of his back leg. You know the skin that covers that area? I don't even know how deep it was, but it was several inches long. I'm not sure how many. We doctored that dog for a month or more to get that thing closed up. Then in Nov. my DIL was playing fetch with him. He ran into some tall grass to get his ball, came out with about a 2" square patch of skin flap hanging loose, down to the tendon sheath. Got that one stitched up. (We couldn't stitch the other wound because of it's location) Anyway, he is the most accident-prone dog I've ever had. Sometimes, I think I'd like to attach a GoPro to him just to see where he goes and what he does in the night.
