Surviving Minnesota!

I just had about a dozen male red wing blackbirds at me feeders,,,,
I bet they are wishing they had stayed down south a few weeks longer.....and there is a good chance when the females get up here, they will find their mates dead frozen in a snowdrift....
It's supposed to freeze here tonight. I'm worried about my purple Martins. Poor things will probably die up there in those metal houses tonight. :(:(:(

Happy Easter everyone. (According to the calendar it is Easter, but according to the weather I’ll wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

I think Christmas is warmer and has less snow than Easter........Happy Easter..

What will we do!!! Below 32 degrees!! The inhumanity of it all!!

BTW I have 4 degrees right now.......So it is hard to feel any more sympathetic to you.....

I had frozen cracked eggs yesterday. I assume I will today too. Frozen eggs in April is not right.......

Happy zombie jesus day. I have today off from teaching Sunday school but the men's Easter breakfast aka egg bake potluck is happening. They asked me if I planned on buying eggs for my husbands egg bake.. :lau I guess they didnt think that through. I still have 7 dozen eggs trapped in my fridge and the chickens are still laying..

Happy Easter from South Texas. To be honest with you folks I wish I was comfortable in my Minnesota home with these same lovely people all around and my pup and birds tended to with my own hands but it will do and we’re making my in laws pretty happy. In 24 hours we’ll be leaving for the air port.

Layers are you Latvian?

Whoop I bet Ukrainian heritage...

Good morning all. It is dam_ cold here this morning. The hens are free ranging and seemingly happy because they can yet find open ground on the South facing slope. It is surprising how fast snow can melt with bright sunshine even when the ambient temp is less than 32.
Ralphie, the Grandkids are definitely the cutest, but the growing chicks are good to look at as well.
BC, it looks as if you are living the good life there. If I were able to find someone to properly care for my birds I would be someplace warmer like Lost Wages !
