Morning . Thanks on the tip about water softeners up north BC . Not sure if I can do it on a summer place . Unheated in winter might be a problem . How would I get all the water out ?

Idk jerry. I know that a lot of cabins get winterized. I would imagine some have softeners. Is there a way to blow out the lines on that thing?

If you don’t have one I’m afraid you’ll have brown fixtures in a short amount of time.

The good thing about living in iron water country, is all your friends and neighbors have brown stains too.....So at least they don't think your lazy or a slob when they see it...

Which is great for those of us that are lazy and slobs.. And as an added bonus it keeps city people from visiting too often.

Just watched a youtube video. You’re right jerry there are too many nooks and crannies to a softener. They showed the guy disconnecting the inner tube of stuff attached to electrical bits and said that part needed to be stored warm and he left the brine tank with salt.

I think if this is the case....There is only one solution... Jerry and Janet must move to MN full time year round! Problem solved...
