Here is a idea for you . I see they have winches that fit your receiver hitch and one that can mount in your truck bed . Easy loading of road kill . Surely you saw some fresh roadkill on your travels .

There was one near Milaca that was a bright red color.. and it was already chunked and ground into burger

I finally got all my hens and pullets into the greenhouse, plus 4 roosters and a jenny who seems to think she’s a chicken. That was day before yesterday. I got 15 or so during the day, then carried the rest up after they went to roost. Sooo, next day when I checked on & fed/watered them I intended to come back with ducks so I didn’t fasten down the barrel latch all the way (the door has settled and the latch was balky) nor did I fasten/turn back on the electric fence. I looked out the window a couple hours later and there they all were, all over the place. Pickin’ and peckin’ and havin’ a grand old time.

It was windy. I guess the latch vibrated open. Anyway, guess who got to do it all over again (around 300 yards, right up the hill, through the woods, in the dark, 2 birds at a time), last night? Today I moved all the 7 month old jennies over and moved the black one back for being a B to my chickens. I may move one of the Narragansetts back if she doesn’t mind her manners. If you get moved back, you get processed... as soon as my girlfriend gets that freezer she promised me ready to be moved out of her folks’ old house.

Actually I might keep a Bourbon Red and a Narragansett male. Not gonna keep the blacks. I can’t/won’t keep more than 2 or three of the ladies since I have such pretty Sweetgrass littles coming up. I think I’m gonna leave the littles (and the ducks) where they are for now, though. I opened the two yards to one another so everyone has lots of room. They’re all getting on fine with the big boys, who ignore them because they’re too busy strutting to notice anything else.

I put mine on around Halloween, was supposed to get 6" and stay cold for a week. Only 2 stuck to the drive , so I let it melt

Got the last Cochin hen I wanted to sell sold yesterday. Now down to 2 cockerels, and 1 cock to sell. I'm thinking about going into bantam wyandottes with my sister, but not a recognized variety
