well I think we really need to see this list so I can PM these ladies with that dubious honor! They can be known as the PC Ladies.

Oh stop it.

The honor would be mine. The horror would be theirs. Plus the list would be a lot more than 12 and that's not including the married women obviously.

I'm talking about an off-the-grid house adventure like Les's, not a Frontier House. In Les's scenario deodorant, soap, and running water is possible.

I don't get the youtube link that says Bear is a fraud- did I miss something? Did he NOT walk across the rocks? What a stupid link and waste of time.

Did you not watch the WHOLE clip? Gee, I thought my attention span was short!

Man, Survivorman is AWESOME! I remember the first episode I saw was when he was on the desert island. We turned the tv on and couldn't figure out what show it was at first.

That show kicks Man vs Wild's butt. BRING IT BACK!

Yeah- the whole "giant evidence of fraud"oooooooh I totally HATE Bear now! LOL Like I said- stupid waste of time. I don't think even Fox news would run crap like that.

Well I would love to know what Les will do next. We haven't had PBS (unbelievable, huh?) for 11 years now, so I missed out on some good stuff.

I wonder if there's another Les Stroud kind of guy who could start up Survivorman again. Those are some mighty big boots to fill.

Saw part of it, couldn't watch his wife whine anymore and not lift a finger to do anything.

We had a series about two couples that lived for one full year as they would have in the 1800's. They had to build their own cabins, put in crops, hay, everything was done the 1800's way.
It was a all day chore to do the laundry and make bread.
Very, very hard life and interesting to watch.

Can't remember the name of the show but they had another one on Hudson Bay explorers routes through Northern Canada. Incredibly hard and wlderness travel.

Yeah, his wife wasn't too happy. If I was gonna give that a try there are at least a dozen women here on BYC I'd LOVE to try that with. They would be into it more than me and that's a good thing.

Anyhoo, I think the show you are talking about is Frontier House.
http://www.pbs.org/wnet/frontierhouse/project/index.html

PBS put this on around 10 years ago(or so) and I watched almost every bit of it. It was one of the best reality series I've ever watched, complete with all the human drama. It showed how hard it really was to make it out there. Great show. I highly recommend it.

The show I was thinking about was called Pioneer Quest http://www.uk.imdb.com/title/tt0294167/
I
never saw Frontier House but I would like to.
