My bonus hatching eggs included Buff Orpington hen bred to either a Swedish flower Roo or a frizzle cochin bantam roo. The two chicks do not as of yet have any frizzle feathers but they are buffish in color. They were hatched the 4th of October. I wonder if any of you have any of this cross? The chicks look very Orp to me. They still have a little fuzz on their heads but feathered out on the rest of the body. Other possible hens in the pen were a gold laced polish hen and a black copper maran hen. Since the chicks don't look anything like these breeds I am assuming the their mom was the Buff Orpington. Wonder how the Swedish cross would turn out? How can I be sure which roo? Or will I always wonder if the rooster was the frizzle or the Swedish?? The traits of the Swedish and the Orp combined might just make a pretty neat egg layer!
