Swedish Flower Hen Thread

I ended up with a quad of SL from my SL hen. I need to get some pics of them taken but they are turning out nice and the boy appears to have lots of mottling. Yours look good @OHfarmerswife. I'm excited to see what next year brings.

@OHfarmerswife
  Your flock is beautiful. :thumbsup

Oh.... if I had 12 coops..... imagine the trouble! :oops:

Well I have a great hubby who is building my coops & runs. 9 of my coops are smaller 4x7 coops with 7x15 runs. I have a big breeding plan coming up.

Sooo not that I have favorites, but our only sfh was taken in an instant by a hawk and I'm heartbroken. Our three month old girl knew how to steal the limelight...and her Delaware BFF would not go into the coop this evening and kept making the 'lost call' for her to come home. I did a quick search but don't see a group that lists breeders. I am looking for somewhere in New England ideally.

Sure do hate to hear that I lost my two beauties not long ago I replaced them but it ain't the same, but life continues to go on. I was lucky to find some from a bloodline in Arizona that were just an hour an a half away, they are beautiful birds but I didn't raise them from a day old and their less spunky and more skidish. Hopefully I'll have me some out of these soon enough.

I am very sorry for your loss.

@PRDK
I believe @Melabella might be in the area you're looking. She has beautiful birds!

Thank you Leahs Mom!

PRDK, let me know if I can be of any help! If you are indeed a driving distance to Dutchess County, NY, we could certainly arrange to meet. I am willing to drive a reasonable distance as well. PM me if you would like, I have some babies and teenagers growing out, and also sell hatching eggs and do custom hatches for people.

Thank you!

I'm glad you are enjoying them. They are cool little birds. I am happy that you got both crested and uncrested chicks. Where are the pics??? Give a break-down of what you have (black based, blue based, crested, non-crested?)

Here's my little snowleopard boy. See how instead of the red/brown feathers, he has yellowish muted feathers? I'm excited because I've never hatched this color. I also finally got a blue based girl. That's exciting because now I can hatch splash chicks. Lots to look forward to. This breed never gets boring.
Great looking cockerel... off to a great start with him! Love his size, depth, and how he's set up on his legs!
