Shipping box, like this. http://poultry2.tripod.com/id3.html

Alas, I am unable to get hubby to budge on an incubator larger than the two I have now (hatch in one, incubate in the other), especially a big one (it would be so,much.fun!!). He did point out we don't really have a place to set up a large cabinet incubator full-time. Sometimes the man has some sense.

He is looking askance at a way I could possibly add 20 to the 40 or so I can already incubate in one styrofoam incubator and get 60 chicks (hooray!) but he still might relent there to shut me up....I pointed out I might do way better with shipped eggs with a Brinsea (or Dickey...sigh) and stop wasting money to get one or two chicks (or none). I mentioned it's time to build a chicken barn so I could hatch and brood outside instead of the dining room (and I would have space for a big incubator...mwhahahaha) and he glared at me

He helped me with Stupid this evening, who foolishly hopped up on top the coop which makes him very easy to catch, and when he held and I spread, I see a small feather growing in!! It's just very slow. So he gets a stay of execution for now while I watch and make sure it comes in properly.

Wasp might not...he actually connected with hubby (wearing a red shirt) and left a scratch in his shin this evening. Even though DH says to not kill him, I might process Wasp with the meaties (assuming I can catch him...he is wild.)

You could always use the line that he could build you one if he won't allow you to buy one.

:D

I was just looking at them again, and thinking I could build one if he is gonna be so stubborn...LOL

To be fair to him, he doesn't often get this way. I really do have a million hair brained ideas. He goes along with most of them, for better or worse. Once in a while, like with the LGDs, I can change his mind and show him why I am right. But other times, he could teach a rock how to be stubborn.

Leigh has one last Gunnar boy up for grabs. He does have 2 small sprigs on his comb, but otherwise, she says he's a very good looking bird. If she had more girls and more coop space, she'd probably keep him as a back-up. It is Gunson (Gunnar X Astrid)

If interested you can pm me.
I've seen Gunson and he's impressive... but I already have his twin so don't need another roo either. tho I may take him if nobody else does, just to have extra free ranging roos (I've already told her this...)

Hello everyone I have a question on these guys. Are these guys good layers? and what size are the eggs?

They lay about 150-175 eggs/year. The eggs are small to med. at first, and then after they are about a year old, they are med to large. I believe the new line that GFF imported are supposed to lay XL eggs, but I don't think there are many of those out there yet.
