Swedish Flower Hen Thread

My Brinsea was delivered yesterday. I'm hoping! Now I can stop bribing @kyzmette to hatch for me. It's the small one only seven eggs. Let the madness begin!
Congrats!!! I look forward to seeing plenty of chick pictures!

I really want a good camera. I'm still saving for my fence so it will have to wait!

You may want to check out Costco for a Panasonic Lumix camera. They are not too expensive but the lens quality is awesome. I got one for my DW a couple years ago and she loves it. Easy to use, light weight, and just a great little camera.

I have a friend who I gave the chicken bug too (I have cream legbars) so now she wants chickens but they live in town so I told her I would take any roos she got but I showed her pics of the sfh on greenfire and she fell in love do you know of anyone in ks we could get some from?I live in se kansas she is in south central. Also we go to oklahoma city and norman frequently so if theres any one that direction that would work too. We dont have an incubator so thats not an option as of yet does any one ship chicks? Would mabye be another option..

cathiesue (the post just above yours) lives in OK, and I know we have some KS folks on here too. Hopefully they'll chime in soon.

I can vouch for the quality of Cathie Sue's birds. She has some gorgeous SFH. She actually gave me my first roo, Orlando (Orlando Bloom Hen!) and he's a real treasure.

I'd be getting plenty of SFH eggs now if the hogs would stop getting out and heading straight to the coop to eat the eggs and clean their feeders.

Local slaughter house had to push our date back to March 18, because they got horribly backed up with the nasty weather we had here. Haven't had much luck locating anyone else in my area. UGH. I have processed hogs before -- I worked in a slaughterhouse during college -- but I was young and had the proper equipment. But they are making me mad eating the eggs!
