Here are my 5 week olds....look at the difference in the tails and sizes... (As always, trying to guess sex!)

4 on the floor. Left to Right: Yellow, Blue, Black, Orange



Front: Little Black. Smallest; Still not much tail to speak of!

They're beautiful! What a great array of colors.

LM - Here were mine at the same age. The girl's tail feathers were just as long as Gunnar's, but fuller and wider. Frederic had no tail feathers to speak of - LOL.

Bummer. O well...guess I have to wait till I see an egg to be sure.

I found that my chicks feathers grew at very different rates. Has anyone hatched any solid buff colored SFH?

I'd love to do some Spring egg trading for specific colors if anyone is interested.. I would love to have some white/reds and have some nice blues and other colors to offer in return.. They seem to change daily. I'm so glad the last pullet proved to have a good wing.

LOL - after reading through this conversation I went out to the coop and grabbed my SFHs one at a time. My daughter and I spread each wing out and counted each primary. I'm doing the happy dance right now... none of my 4 have split wings! My boy Gunnar does have a tiny sprig, but that's the only fault.

from the ones I hatched their head feathers are still not on and I hatched them the day after christmas!

Some of mine were obviously crested at hatch, some didn't come in until weeks later.
