ROFL... uh... you tell me. you're the one had them sent here. i don't know people's names, just the one on the box, but i have no context who it's related to. (byc name that is, if it is)

Can you tell I've had a long day filled with paint fumes??

This is what I've been up to. My SFH flock will be switching coops soon!

wow. you've been busy while i've been hiding in the warm house waiting for spring to appear... that cold air does NOT like me!

And I do not like cold weather... at all! But... I wanted to get the project finished so I can move the SFHs into the new coop, move the bantams into the blue coop and of course get all the chicks out of the laundry room and into the grow out pen - LOL!

I think it's turning out well.

I love rustolium! I am in the Navy and I bought it by the case so we could use it on my last ship!!!

I've done a lot of thought with my breeding, so I'm hoping it will work out well!
Not sure what your doing, but it looks like you're doing something right! I love the mahogany, and the black/white. Ok, I love them all... but especially those two! I'm really looking forward to seeing what my new pairings produce as well.

@ ki4got. Holy cow! I'm going to have my wife read your post. She'll never complain about MY addiction again! Good luck with your new brood!

One of my babies looks to have coccidiosis. They were bright and alert this morning, eating and running around. I checked their water this afternoon and noticed one of them was under the EcoGlow, which was odd. I lifted up the Eco and noticed this chick -- of course, a girl, light colored and maybe a blue or splash -- has her eyes shut and sitting there all fluffed up, looking poorly. I took her out so I could see her stools, and they are very liquid. I don't see blood. She looks horrible.

I started the lot on Corid, and I gave her Corid, electrolytes, probiotics. I also have a sulfa I could add in.

I want to tear my hair. I'm awesome with client animals and almost unflappable, but my own....not so much.

She won't eat or drink. I'm giving her drops via a syringe. Anything else I can try? I really don't want to lose her.

Trying to figure out how she got it...I look after the chicks first, then go outside to look after the rest. When I return, I drop my outdoor clothes and shoes at the door. I usually even shower after that. I don't have to fool with them again until later, and it's usually a visual check at that point (I keep everyone out of the brooder as much as I can). The only thing I can think of is I added a second feed dish 2 days ago, and it had been stored near where I have 3 adult birds and 2 chicks living after I put it up last fall, clean (I run them through the dishwasher before storing). Maybe there were some coccidia on the dish from the adult birds?

Argh.

you might try poly-vi-sol liquid vitamins... a drop in the beak and added to the water seems to do a lot of sfh chicks a lot of good...

bulldogma has more experience with unthrifty sfh chicks. i'm waiting for mine to hatch... (they are mine, right bulldogma? or was i hatching for you again?
