Apparently, the 1918 pandemic started basically the same way as this one, before becoming much more deadly:

At first it seemed like no more than a harmless, unseasonal flu.

Most people who were infected with the virus recovered within a week following bed rest. Some doctors describe it as the "three-day flu".

But some died within 24 hours of infection and as the virus spread it appeared to become stronger and more deadly.

Hopefully that doesn't happen with this one. I wonder how easily this spreads.​

My foster sons teacher really has me upset now though..*but, i'm going to ask her exactly what she told him..because he tends to get his storys mixed up...* but, if he told me the truth..she was WAY out of line in her comments about my pigs today... we will see tomorrow what she has to say..

I live right on the Mexican border in Arizona. There still hasn't been any confirmed cases of Swine Flu here, although all the mexican kids that come to school here wear masks. All the schools in Mexico are closed until the end of May. The the thing I still don't understand is that people are freaking out for something that is completely curable and preventable. I even heard that its just as bad as regular influenza.
