So far we haven't had any cases here (that I have heard of) but my children are carrying hand sanitizer and have been warned to stay a safe distance from their friends. No sharing of toys, don't let anyone touch ANYTHING that belongs to you and don't touch anything of theirs, etc. Pretty much the basic precautions stepped up a bit. I have all the windows open in my home and plan to keep it that way. Glad it warmed up enough to do that.
As for uninsured, underinsured, etc., my mother is one of those. She is not old enough for medicare and can't afford private insurance. She just tries to stay well and generally does. I have been talking to her about flu symptoms, however, and warned her to get checked at the first sign whether she can affor it or not. It is pretty sad, she has worked hard her whole life but her retirement just isn't enough to support her and the two little girls she had dumped in her lap.
