SWINE FLU PANDEMIC? Mx, NY, TX, KS...

Any theories on why it's killing healthy people between 25-40? Think it's because people in that age group tend to not worry as much as older people about getting laid low by a cold or flu? Maybe they wait till they're in really bad shape before they finally go to the doctor.

I would. Quarantine is just that. It has been successful at containing diseases for thousands upon thousands of years. Even impoverished Third World countries realize that. We're the only fools who think that money is more important than being alive to spend it.

From what I've read, the immune system over reacts. People in that age group have better immune systems.

There is a suspected case about 40 mins from me. They shut the school down in that town because of it.

And I was exposed to a man on Monday, at work (emergency room) that had horrible flu symptoms -and coughed all over me!- he had just returned from California.
The hospital started a new screening tool at 1:00pm today.

I am not sure if this has been said yet, but the regular everyday flu virus kills around 35,000 people in the US every year.... Just a point to consider.

I for one am panicking! I have asthma along with other health issues and I had to get a flu shot this year. My doctor told me if I did get the flu this winter I'd probably be in the hospital. With no health insurance I didn't hesitate to get it. So, yup, I won't be sleeping good tonight! I see that Ohio and NY both have cases of it. Pa is sandwiched in between that so I guess by tomorrow I'll be learning of its arrival here. UGH!
Our borders should have been closed already. I hate incompetence.

Tidbit here - Wash your hands all ya want but guess what? I saw a woman sneeze all over a bunch of cans on a shelf at Wal-mart yesterday. Now what are the implications of that? Should we be washing all our fruits, veggies, cans, etc., with bleach?
