Yes, blood stop product with benzocaine. I personally have used 5% proparacaine ophthalmic solution in a few birds and none of them died, lol. Guess maybe we should start a new thread about caine toxicity?

There is aqueous penicillin G that is used in humans and given intravenously, but you can't get it for veterinary use.
That makes sense... no need for procaine in a medicine that's given IV, right? All I have ever seen is the stuff that the feed stores and vets sell, it's all had procaine. I don't know Jack about the human stuff, lol, that's your area of expertize!

im willing to share what i can find, if it is a myth i would like to set the record strait.
 
Dee Dee 2, how is he doing? have you done the surgery? i have used penicillin after this surgery with no known problems. im not sure im giving you the best advice, but it did work for me.

there is water soluble penicillin, i have never used it - it is dosed for turkeys. it does say not to use in turkeys used for egg production. here is a link, use your own judgement:
