So sorry to hear that, we lost one too, hatched yesterday, found it dead under the mother, but the second one hatched this morning and is doing great!

A little Golden chick with white wing-tips, a very fluffy, fat face, and feathered legs!

@The chicken Hatcher, Your chicks look so cute! Post more pics! I am sorry you lost one. Sadly, it happens and we never know why.

I have 5 more days before Hatch Day! Everyone is candling well and losing weight perfectly so fingers crossed! But you never know, my experience with the Brinsea Mini is quite good but I have lost chicks before.

Yesterday, I set up the brooder. I'm using a small dog crate and have added baffles to the sides to keep the babies warm. I've placed it in front of a window so they can see out. I think I am ready to go! Now back to watching the eggs...

Tomorrow is lockdown day!!! I candled yesterday and so far everyone is moving and actually rather irritated at the light. All good. So fingers crossed we have a good hatch rate!
