I would like him to crow every now and again as I live in a fairly rural area so it wouldn't matter.

If anyone is still checking this thread!

Mr rooster attempted to crow this morning and I mean attempted.lol.

He let out two loud raspy squarks and then he clucked a bit but really oddly, I actually thought maybe he was chocking but when I let him out he was fine.
Lets see how he goes tomorrow!
 
They sound pretty funny when they first start crowing. I was proud of my roosters when they started crowing, but I guess you actually want to discourage your rooster.

Yeah. He didn't try again this morning but that was because i put him in the darker coop, so maybe it is working.
I found out that is is almost 11 wks, is this really old enough for him to start crowing? I though around 16 - 18 weeks!
 
Do you not like the crowing or are you being stealth? If you cant have chickens and are going rogue...I would get rid of the rooster! they will blow your cover QUICK!
