Tell me the chicken coop is the only place you wear Crocs

I picked up a pair of rubber clogs like that from CVS. What a coincidence that other chicken folk wear them.

I think they are as ugly as mud and make my feet look 5 sizes too big like a pair of clown shoes. But I continue to slip them on to rush out the back door and check the chooks. I also hose them off while i am outside to freshen up. Then I leave them inside the backdoor and do not bring them in the house.

Works great.

PS Definitely NOT a fashion statement and definitely NOT worth buying a "name brand" for a pair of plastic garbage shoes. But if you can find a pair for under $5 they are worth it to muck around in poop.
When I run out to the store, I generally change into my less bulky flip flops... also purchased for $1.99. For the winter, I will use my rubber horse riding boots.

My message is coming in a little after the fact....but.... those first two photos of the cat and Mario and JennsPeeps comments were the funniest that I have heard/seen in ages... I have tears in my eyes from laughing so much...

I hate to admit it but my kids all wear Crocs.

They do look very cute on children, especially in bright colors. Reminds me of an oversized style for a baby doll. Makes the child look more diminutive and toy like. I don't think they do any favors on me though. If you are tall, buxom, heavy or already have big feet, I would avoid them.

A nice playful, clownish look for short, skinny, childish looking people.

I disagree. If I am going to be spending time on my big flat feet then the name brand material is worth paying more for. Just my opinion certainly. They are not plastic garbage shoes to me.

crocks have an antifungal in them and supposedly they are really good for your feet and i LOOOOVe mine

I wear flip flops out to our coop but with the rainy season coming quickly I need to figure out a new slip-on shoe that's coop worthy. I've got a clunky pair of too-big garden clogs tucked away somewhere. Should go see where those went to.

I have name brand crocs and I have tried on the cheap ones in Target. The cheap ones aren't nearly as nice as my real ones. The $5 ones feel much more like plastic and not nearly as comfortable. The real ones are worth the money IMO. I won't buy real ones for my kids just because they will outgrow them in 2months.

Wear my crocs everywhere unless I'm at work or riding my Harley.
Even to church ( with socks of course ).
Once a week, throw em in the dishwasher with a load of dishes.
Clean as a pin.

Oh, you just reminded me to keep my eyes open for a new pair of cheap rain boots. I had a pair from a discount store that didn't cost more than $8 and they were perfect when I needed something more than a clog type garden shoe. These lasted two years then the bottoms cracked.

i dont know about the fungal infection part but crocs are actually good for your feet, the rubber gives a support and structure that most other shows cant thats why nurses wear them and then the caught on, my mom worked in a doctors office and that is all the nurses would wear because of the comfort level and that they were doctor recommened, now the knock off ones are terrible not made of the same stuff so they could possible be bad for your feet

Actually, nurses started wearing them in surgery, as a disposable shoe that doesn't require the use of hands to put on or off. On the nursing floor, they are dangerous foot wear in more ways than one and I do not recommend them at all. I call them "scuffle shoes"! They don't provide enough support and can come off easily when assisting patients who are already unsteady on their feet, possibly causing a fall. They also do not provide enough protection from the occasional bodily fluids that can spill over onto the unsuspecting foot.

I don't know about the original brand, but the knock offs actually can cause more foot problems like fasciaitis due to people just barely scuffling along to keep the shoes on their feet. Its necessary to flex the calf muscles, as one would when they "stride out" in a regular shoe, to prevent the tightening of the Achilles tendon ~ one of the leading causes of fasciaitis.

They are also more dangerous while driving and can come off your foot or catch on a peddle during an emergency that requires some fast foot-work!

For casual wear, they might be just ducky! I don't recommend them in the nursing field, except in surgery. Just my 2 cents worth!
