Cyneswith, it sounds like you had one of the worst days with to much to endure. But your last statement sounds like you have inherited some of your uncles optimism in realizing that you have a relaxant on hand. I sure hope tomorrow will be a blessing because it sounds like you need some peace.

Hey Cyneswith, sorry it took me so long to get back. I have been trying to keep up but I do not get notices unless it is commented on my post. I hope you are having a much better day today.

Started off at 1:45 AM with a page out for an escalation for what turned out to be a non-issue. Behinds were chewed (I'm the level 3 escalation so I only get paged if the oncall and the backup don't answer). for getting me out of bed, regardless of whether it was noting or not. Managed to finally get back to sleep about 5 AM for 6 AM wakeup call to get the kids moving for school. Full day at the office struggling to not fall asleep on meetings (or at least not unless I was muted).

But, it ended like this, so it can't all be bad.

I'm a professional cat herder (IT Director). We have 24x7 oncall for our customer facing production servers, and I'm the level 3 (management) escalation. My primary and backup oncall engineers have to both fail to answer an oncall issue before I get paged. It happened Weds. morning and I was irritated.

I now understand. You are responsible for coordinating a group of people and when they don't get the job done you have to do it. it is hard to find responsible people.

More or less. They're usually very responsible, for some reason they decided to both be derpy at the same time.

I found out I have a cold today
I went outside, hugged the chickens and was on byc the rest of the day. The water has been turned off all day so that sucks. I'm planning on cleaning the Guinea pigs soon. I really want to break auto correction. At least I got to hold poppy (my favorite chicken)
