Tell your 'what the heck was that thing?' scary story

Http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/2...t-pictures-in-pennsylvania-by-auto-camera/390 post 392 this was the scariest experience of many for me.
After reading these posts , a lot of memories came back.I have seen the ghost that my parents claim is my grandmother and didn't feel really scared. However another experience with one did frighten me. I lived by a mortuary, one night my little dog woke me snarling and barking like I have never heard before. The hair on her ;)back straight up and just going nuts. This thing felt evil, you could just feel it. I turned on the lamp to get my gun when the dog charged
running out to the living room. I did not hear any sound other than the dog,the door was locked, and the windows all shut. We also lived on the second floor. I don't know what this was,I know it was bad,and do not want to know what its intentions were.
Another strange thing happened to me and a friend. We were parked under some trees drinking some beer and shooting the bull when the truck jolted like something heavy was dropped in the bed. We both said what the hell was that got out to look expecting a branch from the tree. There was nothing there,we both jumped back in and I got out of there as fast as i could drive.

Another strange incident involved a hearse late at night on a empty road. 3 of us were going hunting, the hearse was suddenly behind us,than passed us. Way up ahead of us it pulled off the side of the road. We pulled up alongside to see if they needed help. All of us seen a pale shape appear in the window and we smoked the tires getting out of there. I don't know if it was our imagination, if it was I'm sure whomever was in that hearse was upset with us not helping them.

One other one still gives me the heebie-jebbies. I was out hunting rabbits at night with friends. In those days the jackrabbits were like a plague. Usually 3 guys would shoot while one would drive. This,I believe was in early spring just after the snow left. The ground would freeze at night. I had to go to the bathroom so I jumped out of the truck to go. My friends thought it funny to drive off and leave me there. I waited about 10 minutes and they came back. In the headlights right in front of me was a steaming rabbit that something had partially ate. Remembering that still gives me shivers.

You sure that wasn't an earthquake?

Then come over here to Sasquatch country by and around Mt. St. Helens. Don't forget to wear flannel either, it doubles the chances of Bigfeet and alien encounters.

Ah, here I am in a completely silent room all alone, reading this thread and hearing weird sounds around my house in the middle of the night. Probably coyotes or owls, maybe schizophrenia now that I've thought about it, but eee....

Im pretty sure it was no earthquake, it felt like something being loaded in the truck. The back of the truck went down, felt the springs compress, then returned to normal. Really weird and spooky when I was 18.

Spookwriter coming home...

How far can I go here, before the people run screaming?

For among the things I truly own, I own my the original town
cememtery. It was part of my deed when I bought this place.
I own some really beautiful graves dating back to the 1700's.

As cemeterys go, it isn't so big. Only 284 graves...I know them
all. By name, by place. Many the times, I've walked among them.
For now and forever, they are mine now.

Since I've owned it, there has only been three burials. Even that
was years ago. Never in my daughters time.

We're an old town...the old horse drawn hearse is still in the livery
behind the closed funeral house. Not far from my gates.

Many the nights, I've walked among these people. Listened to their
stories.

When the wind blows calm, you can hear the old funeral
bells toll.

But the bell towers empty now. There's not been a bell
there in all these years. Historical placque in the graveyard
said the twin bells were given up in a World War 2 scrap
metal drive.

OK heres one....

When I was about 16, I was staying at my fathers cottage on the lake for the summer. It always was a creepy place with more than one story, but.... It was raining buckets outside, so my fathers girlfriend Karen and I were just sitting at the kitchen table downstairs. The rain was just pounding on the roof. We were just sitting there then all of a sudden I hear this thump, pause thump, pause thump pause. Then kinda weird like at the same time Karen and I look at each other and with puzzeled looks on our faces, and say to each other simultaniously, do you hear that? And through the pounding of the rain you could hear this dull thump thud kinda sound. So we are like is the rain ruining the roof, do we have a leak? We had better go upstairs have a look see, and make sure everything is OK.
So we get up from the table to head upstairs and the dog wakes up. We get to the bottom of the stairs, and the dog stands there with all the hair on its back raised up looking up the stairs. So now we are thinking what the heck. So we start heading up the stairs and we can still hear the thump sound. Its at the end of the hall past all the bedrooms in an empty living room area, thats completely empty. Empty except I kid you not a big bass drum.
Well now Karen and I start getting the creeps like real bad. We could still hear the sound until we got into the room. Let me tell ya, we were scared crapless to enter that room. Had it not been daytime I dont think I would have. There in the room, in the far corner is that stupid drum. We turned around ran back down stairs and waited for dad to get home. We didnt hear the sound again. When dad arrived home we promptly told him get that dang drum out of the house NOW!!! Or we were going some where else to spend the night. Out to the curb it went, right then and there. We never heard the sound again. Totally creepy.
