The corn field is never safe. Never plant a corn field by the house.

Even harvested, there is danger. For the things that would hide in the
corn merely slink to the ground. Waiting on the warm weather that would
bring them back to life if only for a night, as they need the fresh blood.

You MUST burn the cornfield.

Just as in the days of old...

I am alone in the dark....and it is storming.
It was a dark and stormy night.......when tigerstripes read the freaky thread and suffered a fatal death from terror over the cat growling behind her.

Oh my gosh...speaking of corn fields...

I grew up in north western IN, RURAL IN, corn and soybean country. One of the movies that sister and I weren't supposed to watch at uncle's house was Children of the Corn. Can you imagine how freaked out we were riding home at 9 p.m. in the dark that night? I had a very vivid imagination...I remember the top drawer of the bureau next to our bed was open and I would SWEAR I saw that boy sitting in that drawer looking at me! Maybe it was one of the dolls??

Oh, and The Exorcist? That was another we weren't supposed to watch but hid behind the doorway into the living room at uncle's house. When we got home our bedroom door was closed and we absolutely REFUSED to open that door!
