Hi all
I have 6 polish chicken eggs in my incubator on day 4. All going well but while out today there was a power cut for about 5hrs. On return we found the incubator still off with a temp of 18.1c.
Humidity was 55%. Do you think ive lost my new eggs or should I keep my fingers crossed and hope some or one may hatch.?

There's plenty of hope. Chickens will sometimes leave their nests for hours when they're brooding, and a loss of temperature is something the eggs handle much better than an excess of heat. Candle in a few days and see how they're doing--I imagine most, if not all, are still alive.

Ok thanks for your replies. I will candle at day 10 and report back. My first attempt at incubating was last year. 2 polish, 4 quails, and a silkie but the latter died shortly after. So hopefully these 6 are going to be ok....back soon
