I feather sexed my last batch of Dels and these project birds.... I was only half right. I don't think it works for all breeds. Hopefully you are right, though... luckily for me... turned out to have perfect 50/50... so if I have alot of roos... I rather have them in pairs than way more roos than girls.

like em said... you can cup your hand (like momma's wing) and hold it. It's sweet and you'll have a excuse to not do chores! lol

These are hatchery... I didn't need/want all 25. All pullet leghorn pack.

Oh, well how much are you selling them for?

$3 each for now... of course it will go up as they get older. I got 2 I KNOW are available. I'm waiting to hear back from a co-worker who needs to talk to her husband about how many she wants, so there might be more available.

Well I think I'm getting better at it, it worked for the SLW's I got months ago 2 pullets and a roo, like I wanted. Then it also worked for the CornishX straight runs they sent me close to 50/50 (more girls than boys but only by 2-3). So I have my fingers crossed, we'll find out in like what 4-5 months

Yeah, I have that one and "I can't! These bantam hens won't get off my arms!" lol. They cover me like Snow White comming out of the forrest! I gave them treats out of my palm once and now it's a habbit!

That's one reason I like straight combs... you can get a pretty good guess (though it's hard with no other chicks to compare to) in about 4 weeks. That's how old these Dels and projects are and already there is a clear difference in boys and girls.

Haha, yeah I'm used to the RIR's and BR's. I can tell you on SLW's at a week old just from tail feathers

but I just started EE's and bought already matured birds and decided to incubate some eggs and only got one chick! I had 2 but unfortunately it had a bum leg and wasn't looking so good, so I had to do the deed today on it
