Quihi here. We did some E-mails back in February.
I was looking for NN pullets. You had some for sale, but they
were the little squirts. I wanted the BIG mamas. I've got plenty
of them now.

Check out these fat babes hanging with Daddy.

I hope your flock is doing well in all the heat.

Jelly

That nn rooster it looks nice .
Is the rooster and the hens from the same line?

No the rooster is not from the same line. I got him and his brother at "La Pulgita" flea market
on Old Pleasanton Road. They were supposed to be pullets. HA!

Hens are from Ideal. I got 10 chix. I lost 2 from hawks. They are 9 months old now, and
I get a bunch of BIG eggs every day.

Next cross will be to a black skin shamo cross to get the horizontal tail ,they already have the tail almost like a vulture but I need to add more size

I would say the white chicks will turn yellow and the black ones will be same color as the rooster.
Good luck with those chicks

Those are some nice NNs Jelly we also raise NNs with a couple of projects going with them too including some madagascars, and showgirls.

Hi guys .
I also have a project with nacked necks I'm trying to breed and make my chickens look like a vulture.
I'm wonder if you have something similar to what I have or if you are way further in your project, I got some chickens with dark skin all crosses.

Cool, those are getting real close to Madagascar Games!!, like the hen in my avitar.

The German Malay Club has some really good pics of the Mad. Games on their site.

Just had to comment on them, nice birds. Years ago all of the NNs I got from Ideal had black skin and most lived to eight years and beyond.

Do ya'lls NN hens lose the tint on their eggs as they age? Some of my old hens lay a nearly white egg.

Cleburne is not far from me and Blum really isn't either. I didn't know that there were chicken swaps
smile.png
. Been to lots of plant swaps but I love the idea of chicken swaps!! Nice to meet you all and perhaps one day we'll be able to put faces with names

Would love to participate in a swap (or at least attend one to see everyone's birds). I can't trade now (as I've had coon and dog issues and have lost 75%) of my flock. I have completed "fort knoxing" my main coop, but am now going to start revamping the brooder coop and then begin on new breeder pens. But I'd love to be involved and would love to help organize if needed.

I dont know about the eggs discoloration
Since i always cull my oldest chickens.
But I do have noticed their skin get darker by age.

WE HAVE RAIN!!!!!!! We've been getting rain off and on since Tuesday. I'm sure it's been a great relief to the firefighters north of me (Livingston). Last Friday night coon (and, I believe, a dog) broke into by brooder pen and got 13 chicks. Some Marans, some EEs. So I'm looking to replace my EEs. I lost my 2 white EE hens . . . REALLY upset about that
somad.gif
but we are now down 3 coons and 1 possum and traps are being reset nightly. Anyone near me sell EEs/Olive Eggers????

We have rain too! It's rained about 2 inches since Tuesday morning! I hope it rains every day for a week though I know it won't.

I've been seeing Olive Eggers and Amerucana for sale in the Houston Craigslist. Olive Eggers are in Wharton Co. and the others in Spendora. Not sure how far you want to drive.
