okay, Carla, count me in. i'm a newbie to chicks and Texas. we live just north of Weatherford which is 18 miles south of springtown and 25 miles west of fort worth. been here 8 months, retired from nw missouri. wife FINALLY got the chicks she's been asking for for 12 years! 5 black australorps and 3 EE's. 2 weeks old yesterday. let's see- $2 apiece= $500 coop, feed,fence,light,etc., etc.-great deal! haha. (still trying to find food grade de close.)

Yep, I don't even want to know how much my coops cost. I figured if I sold eggs for $50/doz for the rest of my life, I probably wouldn't break even. LOL However, it is less expensive than some other hobbies, plus you get eggs...
