We were in the closet a bit ago! The sirens here are scary! No sirens in Houston. ..
The bathroom is the safest place if you have solid water lines in your attic. They help keep debris from falling in on you!!

There is a swarm of bumble bees around my coop area. I mean there is a lot of them and a few red wasps. How do I get ride of them??? I am allergic to stings and I am not afraid of using what I need to kill them but I have no idea what I can use that wont harm my chickens when I get to put them out there. So I need something that will kill the bee but want hang around when I put the chickens out there in a few days. If I get hit by a couple of them, I will end up in the hospital. Any ideas??
Are you sure they are bumble bees? There are some bees that don't usually sting but are great for pollinating. Shoot! I can't think of their name right now. I would call a beekeeper to help you. There is a swarm of bumble bees around my coop area. I mean there is a lot of them and a few red wasps. How do I get ride of them??? Thanks! I thought it was pretty funny. It's that 5th voice that is the voice of reason..... lol!Big Band, Love it. I told my son they needed to play that kind of music at their wedding! Love dancing to it. By the way, I love your aviator pic. voices in your head! LOL
Not sure about Brynn's house (she lives about 5 blocks from me) but my house is pier and beam and doesn't have any safe places to go to. Every room has an outside wall - even the closets. The closest thing I have to safe place is the crawl space under the house. I'm not sure I could go down there. Quote: Yep sounds like you have a hive. Maybe you can call a local bee expert they might know of someone to come and remove it for free. Then they live, you stay safe and everyone is happy. Bees are on a crazy decline, just disappearing but are so import, seems like a shame to have to kill them off. Can you post a picture of them? You said you had red wasp and for some reason I did not think the two lived around each other (don't quote me on that). However, my red wasps live near hornets, that look like "fuzz less" bees at a distance.![]()

There is a flash flood warning for us now!!!! Yes I am happy. That means the lakes are filling up.e The radar is still red over us.
I missed the season ender of Once Upon A Time in wonderland tonight. It was preempted for weather coverage.

I am/will be. In fact, I put up the plaque that is my avatar today. I'll post a wall pic of it tomorrow. I plan on putting up some wind chimes, hanging baskets and I will be putting a rocking chair out in the barn so I can watch my chick TV!So I would like to know if any of you decorate your coops? And if so post a pic I would like to see.

I have all hatchery chicks now. I plan on my next batch of chicks to start getting heritage breeds.a mom of 3 i have rir the heritage kind ...the roosters are not mean or aggressive toward humans even kids.. the ones from the hatchery are very mean and aggressive will attack most kids and some will attack u too. the reason is simple we select heritage ones for mild temperment the hatchery on the other hand uses flock mating for the most fertile eggs they can get with several roosters in with several hens. the most aggresive rooster get the most hens mutiply x 50 generations and millions of chicks a trait aggresive comes out. if you want a red rooster get a heritage one.![]()
Stay safe!!Weather update. There is some nasty stuff going on around here. Tornados are not too far away and people are without power. There is some big hail too.
I'm ok, where I am. So far.
That looks very promising. Trying to find where you can purchase it at.Hey found this http://on.aol.com/video/texas-two-step-organic-fire-ant-control-method-2992 I have never tried it so can not say one way or another if it works, but could be a good alternative.

I haven't had Sasha out yet. She is scared of thunder so she isn't a happy camper right now.my brother in law got garlic head sized hail in allen
My house is the same. We have two tiny closets that aren't on the perimeter. I managed to get me and 2 kiddos, and the cat in one (she came in by herself).
Seems like I brought the girls in just in time. Their run is completely flooded though -_-
And Archer just ran through every single puddle..what a mutt...lol
