Texas

We have had them only two weeks, but their previous owner raised them from the time they hatched (except the Pekin, he was a recent rescue before we got 'em).  I don't know about mood changes during breeding season.  They are just now coming of age, and have remained trusting and friendly with us from day-one.  I have a 4yr-old daughter who helps me, and they smartly stay out of her way when she tries to chase them...we've experienced no aggression.

I don't see why they would have a problem being housed with your geese...they are currently kept with our 5 pullets (with no trouble).  The Crested were raised with the chickens, and the Pekin has taken to them all quite nicely.

They are being fed DuMOR

Poultry Grower/Finisher 15% Feed (for ducks and chickens).  I am not sure what, if any, issues there would be with changing their food.

Pick up is flexible...Since you'd be doing the driving, you could let me know when would work best for you.  If we did this on a weekend, my husband could help catch the ducks with us.

As for price...$10 per bird, or $50 for all?

That seems fair. But I honestly don't know a when for pick up, the gentleman I mentioned is staying with us. That give me a nearly impossible to predict schedule. Lol. If you need them gone like now you can see if anyone else can take them. It's not like you can hold them indefinitely for someone. But I am very interested in the cresteds. Not sure I want a drake.

Hmmm, maybe Friday or the following Monday I could come up.

Let me ask my sister if she wants the drake and 1 female. She took a pair of geese from me, no reason they wouldn't want some ducks. She just can't have the black one! Lol.

Keep me posted. I don't see why we can't hang on to them another week, or so. We just made the decision to re-home them today...apparently, we're more chicken people than duck people. No problem about not wanting the drake - I'm sure someone is interested in a handsome drake Pekin for their ladies.

You're sweet on the black one, aren't you? She's a sweetie, and has been one of the easiest to catch/cuddle. Keep me posted & let me know as soon as you can. I would love to re-home them all with someone from BYC. I know ya'll LOVE your birds!

I love anything that's furry or feathery. Scales not so much. I tried pet Chinese water dragons and snakes, they were cool and fairly friendly, but I couldn't stomach feeding them pinkie mice and bunnies. So no scaled pets for me.

I have a very mixed flock. Let's see if I can get this right. I have 2 8 week old white Chinese geese. 8 week old RIR, BR, and SLW chicks. 5 or 6 week old BO chicks. 2 4 week old African geese and 4 week old BA chicks, and finally 2 3 week old white Chinese geese again. Lol.

On top of that I have 6 dogs, 6 cats, 2 sons, 1 daughter, and 1 hubby who acts like a kid a lot. Lol

I think the ducks will look nice with the geese. And since the majority of my geese are white, the black duck will stand out a lot.

You've got quite the menagerie (kids & husband included)!

I have 1 White Leghorn pullet, 3 Easter Egger pullets, 1 Red Sex-Link pullet (plus the 5 ducks in question), 1 rescue mutt dog, 1 rescue indoor/outdoor cat, one nearly 4yr-old daughter & a husband. Looking to get more chickens once we re-home the ducks. We're more chicken people than duck people...apparently.

I want EE chicks! But I have to wait. I got to finish brooding the BA chicks first. But man, I wants more fuzzy butts, lol.

My RIR, BR, and SLW chicks were straight runs. And I have a couple BR, and RIR Roos, and 6 of the 7 sLW chicks are Roos! I had horrible luck on them. Lol. Good thing the BO, and the BA were pullets.

I think we may stick with pullets (for now). We just started this chicken journey a couple of weeks ago, and aren't quite prepared (yet) for any potential hatchlings. But maybe in our near future we'll breed/sell fuzzy butts.

I hope to breed chicks and goslings next year. I'll be purchasing some brown and pied Chinese hatching goose eggs from someone one the goose threads. My chicks will be mongrel mix breeds. I don't have the space for separate breeding pens, but I mainly want a self sustaining flock of egg layers to where I just get a new Roo, and a few hens every couple years to keep them from inbreeding too badly. The geese are my babies, they cuddle in my lap and act like dogs following me around, plus they make excellent "watch dogs" and you can hear their alarm call from far away. I'd like more color in my geese though. The ducks I will use as ornamental/egg producers. Not gonna breed them. They will be spoiled though. I bet my sons make pets out of them! Lol
