She is holding her tail down and to the side. Could he have hurt her on the inside as well? As far as I can tell she hasn't laid an egg today and she was laying everyday since we brought her home.

I have soaked her again, it does seem to help her a bit. When she is in the pool her tail isnt pointing down, but is cocked to the right. When she is out of the pool her tail is down and to the right. I am very concerned for her.

Well, the males do penetrate the females, so the forcefulness may very well have injured her. Duck rape is nasty business, so a female duck will sometimes need to heal from a rough encounter.

She's just going to need time to heal on her own. If there are any other drakes, I'd lock them away and let her deal before letting them out again. If not, just keep doing what you're doing. I think you were right to give her a good soak. Just give her time to recover and she'll probably start laying again when she fixes herself up. She went through something traumatic, so she'll need to recover.

So Howard is in drake jail again, this time for good. Ebony's feet are injured and she is limping. He chased her across the yard and caught her on gravel. She kept trying to get away and has cuts on her feet. I have soaked her in Epsom salt, what else can I do to help her?

I had just gone to get my cup of coffee, maybe 3 minutes. That's all it took.

I am so sorry to hear this.

He is a 34 waist in pants. Don't know shoe or shirt size. He can stay in my little apartment for a little longer. But we have family supposed to be coming to visit so he would need to be out when/if they come. Also the apartment isn't the best, we just finished tearing out and redoing an entire room for termite infestation and know the bathroom has them as well. So it's not really the greatest place to live until we get it completely termite free.

Plus I am pretty sure he wouldn't go somewhere else. He still holds out hope that his cat survived and will come back to him. He walks to his house everyday to put food out for her and mess with his garden. I think it's the only consolation he has, being close to his home, his garden, and hoping against hope that the cat survived.

Post a description in the local shelters, vet clinics & around the neighborhood. Maybe she got far off enough out of fear & some1 has her?!

We only have the 1 drake and he is locked up away from all the ladies. He isn't getting out until he either goes to a new home or becomes dinner.

We have soaked Ebony in warm water Epsom salt 3 times and are getting ready for soak 4. We are hand feeding and watering her. But she is crawling a few steps and collapsing back down again. We can tell she is in pain. I hope she recovers from this. I can guarantee that Howard is not getting another chance at any lady now.

She did get out, but she had been moving her kittens. She got 2 of the kittens outside before she was trapped inside with the 3rd. The 3rd kitten was found in the rubble, burned and suffering smoke inhalation but is recovering. When the door of the house was opened by my brother in law looking for Henry, the cat ran out through high flames. She got badly burned, without vet treatment she had no chance of survival.
