Star fire, sorry to interupt, but I talked to the mobile home guy, and he said he will see what he can do. Does your guest need any house hold items, personal hygiene items, did you find out what size shoes he wears, underwear, socks, anything like that?? We have alot of stuff we are not using and will gladly send it to you, but do not want to send stuff that is not needed, and that y'all will have to store somewhere.

He needs kitchen wear, we gave him a few pieces but it's not much. We brought him a few Tupperware, and I am going to give him some freezer bags as I just discovered him putting raw chicken in the freezer in bowls. His shoes are special as he is missing half his foot from diabetes complications. I know he needs cloths, we gave him some hand me downs and took him shopping, but I think he has 3 pairs of pants and 4 T-shirts. No clue on underwear, I am not going to embarrass the man by having a younger woman asking that kind of question. I stocked his bathroom with basics, but he will need more soon. My husband and i have to sneak in the apartment to check when he runs out of stuff (toilet paper, trash bags, napkins, etc,) because he won't ask, we also clean a bit and take out his trash while in there. He just isn't asking, I think he does not want to impose on us further. But I wish he would ask instead of me finding out during our weekly clean up and trash run.

If you want I should probably PM you so I'm not putting peoples numbers out here. Doubt it would matter but who knows..right.

Thanks for the info. We are going to call tomorrow. We think Henry has an American Legion card. So we are going to talk to him before calling to make sure. Thank you so much, this may help out a lot.

Help please!
I was letting my big girls out to free range for a bit before bed time. Went in to tuck in my oldest and my neighbor or the shop that has the yard behind me threw trash in my yard! There was Styrofoam and my silkies and EEs were eating it!!
What should I do for them??

I got to watch Fred (our White Leghorn) take a long dust bath this afternoon. It looked like she was having a spa day. I'd seen videos before...but to watch it in person was rather entertaining.

I had no idea chickens were contortionists.

Thanks for doing what you are doing. I know it has to be overwhelming. Anyway, we can probably send him some cooking utensils and such. We have some extra dishes, forks, knives and spoons. As far as the underwear thing, there will be a check in the pakage, he can pick those things out himself, to save any embarassment. There will also be a razor and blades in there. I get mine from dollarshave.com When I first opened my account, they sent me a handle and 4 blades, all for $6.00. I pay $6.00 a month and they send me 4 blades a month, you can't beat that anywhere. The quality is awesome. If you want a good laugh, go to their website and watch the videos. I will contact them and see if they can send him blades as a donation, they are good about that, if they can't I will pay for his membership. Anyway, I will try to have all this put together by Monday, and in the mail, headed that way.

It looks like eleven of my fifteen eggs are developing and it is only day three~ All six quail are developing, three out of five silver quail are developing, and two out of four blue silver quail are developing. I hope to go and look at them again on day ten and see them all progressing, but I know that they probably just will not develop. Do you think I should pull these eggs out by day ten if I do not see anything?

You should see when like 10 chickens all squeeze into the same dust bath spot. Not only do they somehow manage to fit, but they manage to dig a crater too! I have seen mini dust clouds kicked up when a bunch go for a bath all at once. :gig

Lol, they do look like they have been shot when sunbathing they way they stretch out. And the geese too, they kick both legs out and look positively flat. The first couple times I saw it I ran over thinking they were dead. Now I'm like, oh OK. Lol
