in case anyone wants some!

Where are you located?? I am interested in 4!!!

Congrats! I wouldn't dare try that with 1 of my dogs. She has already killed a couple chicks and I can tell from the way she stares that she would love to do it again. She is kept far away from the ladies as possible. On the other hand, my mousers are scared of the ladies and have been since they were 9 week old chicks, lol.

Sorry to hear about the injury. How is she doing?

Who? Ebony or my BR? Ebony is doing OK. She is putting a little weight on her injured foot today and when she swam she used the leg a bit more. So she is making progress. My BR is doing OK as well. She is running around, eating, drinking and doing chicken things. But she will be blind on her right side. I have the area around her eye covered with Blu-kote to prevent the other chickens from pecking at her injury.

Only 1 out of 8 of the eggs that made it to lockdown hatched. So, now I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do to keep one chick happy...I guess I'll be on the phone first thing in the morning and see if any hatcheries have any chicks that I can get sent to me.

Forgot to say that the ducklings are doing great. Keeping Ebony company and peeping away. I want to pick them up and snuggle them so bad, but I also want Ebony to adopt/bond with them so I resist the urge. The ducklings are adorable though. I am trying to think of names for them, got 3 girls and 1 boy. So far I have Jade and Emerald for 2 of the girls, just because the Cayuga ducks are supposed to get iridescent green on their feathers. The drakes are supposed to be stunningly beautiful.

I've got everyone moved out to their kennel-within-a-horse stall and they still look wistfully out the stall door to the great beyond of free ranging. I will let them get used to the yummy fermented feed they regularly get twice a day in said kennel within stall and will let them range after a couple of weeks to know the place as safe and home. Ive got the link for a fermented feed resource pasted from one of the main pages as a prior post was discussing cover with water or not. I made one of the 25# no waste feeders so I won't ever worry about starvation but they hold out for the ff and the occasional bowl of mixed melon chunks tossed in resulting in small riot.

I guess both. I have been busy and have missed so much. All I have been able to read is a couple pages. I am glad to hear Ebony is doing better, and also about the BR. You have had a harder week than me. When is the BBQ!!!
