Production reds. Hens. Got then from a friend about 6 weeks ago and I think only one is laying and her eggs are either already cracked when I get to them or crack when I pick them up. I have 4 brown layers. My BA lays well and I know the other PR lays well. Sometimes her eggs are HUGE! But the other two PRs well they are free loaders. Ain't got time for that!

That's one big 2 month old!! Mine are 6 weeks and half that size. But they are marans

Well, from what his breeder told me, and she is on this thread, his dad was 16 pounds and from show lines. His hatch date was March 23 I think. He hasn't crowed yet, has no spur development, and he still peeps like a chick, so he is young. I was just as floored by his size when I saw him. Then I was like, if that don't make my next generation of chickens bigger, I don't know what will! Lol. Smoke is the same size as Screwball, who is 5 months old, he just isnt as filled out. Smoke cost $45 but I honestly think he was well worth it. Not only for his size, but he is a very calm, tame lap rooster.

Screwball already bit me and is on very thin ice around here. I will not tolerate aggressive anything here. If Screwball don't settle down, he is going to the pot and Smoke will be king.

We got our 1st Chicken Egg tonight! :)

I am done trying to hatch eggs. I'm 99.9% sure the eggs that are suppose to hatch Wednesday are quitters. I think its my incubator. Out of 3 hatches of over 30 eggs each I had one hatch last time.

I spent a lot of $ on shipped eggs, plus over half the eggs each hatch were our own. I tried a dry hatch, believe it was a mistake in my climate, kept the humidity up...calibrated everything...:(

sorry about no luck with hatching. I just hatched 11 of my 14 eggs, and just put 18 more on lockdown and had 5-6 already with pips, early chicks I guess
