Got 2 eggs, 2 days in a row from Pearl!
They're a pretty green/gray and DELICIOUS.


Thanks for all the kind words. Sadie was the youngest and had been free ranging with the big girls for a few weeks before this. It was an awful accident, but it helped me learn how to cope and what to do in that situation.

Where does everyone get dummy eggs?
Pearl has been letting herself in to lay in my mud/laundry room...lol
I would LOVE for her to actually lay in the nesting box

Ha my dumby egg is an egg shaped piece of glass I bought from some kid outside of the Oasis restaurant. It's sorta iridescent.

Yes it is the POA. It is a good thing. They are accommodating my therapy chickens under the ADA. They restrict me to 3. And they have to be kept in their chicken yard when I am not out with them.Girls aren't going to like that. Anyway it will keep us out of court. I really did not want my neighbors incurring a huge attorney and lawsuit fees cause they would be paying theirs and mine.

@bnjrob You're not too far! Do you sell Java chicks? It wouldn't be until next Spring, so I was wondering if you plan on continuing with the breed?
I like to get new breeds each time so I can figure out which breeds I like best.

Yes I plan on keeping Javas forever. I have not yet sold any chicks, only pullets that did not make the cut for being breeders. Have no idea for sure what I will have available next year so if you still want some next year, check back with me.

At least it's not TOO bad

Yes I plan on keeping Javas forever. I have not yet sold any chicks, only pullets that did not make the cut for being breeders. Have no idea for sure what I will have available next year so if you still want some next year, check back with me.

LOL. No worries about us stopping with the Javas. Spent tons of time (and still do spend time) researching Javas and it took several years to be able to acquire them - they aren't going anywhere as far as I can see into the future.
