Texas

Anyone participating in Easter Hatch-A-Long?  I know it is short notice but it would be fun to do some local fertilized egg trading beforehand.  I might be interested in purchasing some hatching eggs locally as well.  I'm in Conroe.  Have a mixed flock of hens (hens are RIR, Black Astrolorp, Welsummer, BCM, not mixes) and my roosters are all EEs.

I wish I had some to swap. I ended up getting rid of my Roo as he had become aggressive. Thus, I'm working with shipped eggs this year.

Well, I just came home with three crested pekin ducklings that were in serious need of saving. One of them is spraddle legged, the other two needed poky-vi-sol. An hour later and all three seem to be perking up already. Here's to hoping they make it through the night.

Good for you saving them. I use polyvisol often. It works wonders. Let us know how they are tomorrow.

Well this morning the two that kept flopping upside down seem to be much better off. I they appear to have been right side up all night long.

I'm glad they are doing better. Poor duckies. Nutritional/Brewers yeast works wonders for duckies. It has the niacin and vitamins but you can't really over dose on it.

I am currently looking for a "pink" egg laying hens in East Texas. Breed variety isn't important.
