Gorgeous Silver Pheasant Male for sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've had him a couple years and he is beautiful. I have peafowl and he thinks he can take on the big males. Silver's are big chicken size but can't stand up to the size of a peacock. I'm afraid he's going to get hurt.......or killed. I don't have a seperate aviary to keep him in. He'd need to be picked up about 30 miles north of San Antonio. Not sure of price to ask so will let those interested research it and make a suggestion. Would love to meet some folks in my neck of the woods! (-:

I had to move my chicks from the workshop to the main coop in the barn. They were just getting too big for my brooder (wading pool) and I was having nightmares about one getting out and getting lost in my Dad's stuff with no food or water. I rigged up a quick pen in the middle of the coop, so all the hens can see them. Hopefully that will make it a bit easier when it comes time for merging.

I am currently looking for a "pink" egg laying hens in East Texas.  Breed variety isn't important.

I just set some shipped Wynedottie eggs. They had a pinkish look to me. You may want to check into them.

Hows everyone doing this weekend? If any of yall are near San Antonio there is a fossil/gem show going on.

I'm in the SA area! Having a great weekend, thanks! Is the gem show all today as well?

My DH and I were talking of adding Pheasants some day. Do you have any pics of your silver?

While I'm posting, here is a pic of the 18 that I've hatched out in the last two week.

I went Wyendote hunting and ended up with two more EE hens and a Plymouth Bar Rock. The flock is trying to figure each other out. The new ones, minus the Bar Rock, are easy to distinguish. The guy had a Wyendote Rooster that rode them hard. I put some spray wound care from where he had been.

Question for the duck folks... a co-worker has a duck that is laying eggs and she and other people, including me, have attempted to eat the eggs but they have an off smell about them - seems to be the shell and membrane. I even hard boiled two and the 'smell' was still there. Is this a duck thing or what would cause this. The internal part of the eggs tasted fine but the small was pretty gross.
