Texas

Went back and read all the posts since I last posted in January! (you guys are busy!!!) Thanks for the concern and well wishes. Sorry for the bad stuff that has happened and congrats on the good stuff! Here's the update on what's all happened since then.

My husband and I both start the brain injury program this coming Tuesday. It will be three weeks long and will teach us how to live with the permanent injuries we have sustained.

We have added 6 chicks to our lives who are about a month old and chicken math is getting to me already, but it's my therapists fault. He only got two and we all know you need three for a flock. Anyone know where I can get an easter egger for his third? I might need one or two to add to my flock as well. :)

We got a BoGo on two bottle baby nigerian dwarf tricolor blue eyed goats. My sister has one and I have the other.

If my posts are disjointed or don't make sense, forgive me. I have some trouble following linear thought but I will get it there eventually. So bear with me! I have to say grocery shopping is a blast. I forget that I get things sometimes so I find surprises in the fridge or the cabinet and it's lots of fun!

I'll post pictures as soon as I can figure out how to get the gadgets to work together.

Welcome back on Stelle! Great to see you again! I was sorry to hear about your accident but glad that you are recovering. The new chickens will help to lift your spirit.

They are a great help. Can't wait to get those eggs! I sure miss the taste. Enjoying the little goat too!

So far the worst thing is that I am not allowed to drive so I have to depend on outside help to go places. I HATE depending on other people. It sucks. I missed the chance at renting a tiller today. The guy was going to give me two days for the price of one, which as easily as I fatigue would have been a godsend. But no one could give me a ride. They were at work, sick, or wouldn't answer the phone. *sighs* I have a perfectly good car sitting in my driveway. A valid license, and insurance. But medically I can't drive!!!! GRRRRRRRRR!!!!! Sometimes I want to go out there and shred the car but then I wouldn't have a car when I need it eventually. Lol

What are you looking for help with?

After 8 mths of living in Eastern Ky, we are moving back to Central Tx, Austin area. We need a rental property that will allow us to keep all of our fur & feather babies! My husband is a Wounded Warrior, medically retired Army Major. I'm an RN. We have 3 teens, 4 dogs, 3 cats, our daughters therapy pot belly pig & I have 5 ducks. We are very responsible, clean & our pets are friendly & behave. My husband is from Ky, so we moved there to be around family & have support, to help my husband's PTSD & memory loss. Unfortunately, we can't obtain adequate medical care for either him or our daughter. She has a rare syndrome & requires some specialty appointments. We are looking for a property zoned for: Lake Travis, Bowie, Anderson, Leander, McNeil, Round Rock, or Vandergrift High Schools. We need 4 bedrooms, but will take 3, rent $1500-$2000, 1600-2500 square feet. Of course if anyone finds something close let us know. We want to move by April 1! Sorry, it's short notice. We have a Realtor helping us, but no one wants to rent to us due to our pets. The last place we rented for 4 yrs (4 bedroom, 2 story, hardwood & terra cotta tile floors) we received our full deposit back!!!! I'm hoping that like minded folks on BYC from the Austin area can help us :D!

I'm sorry I can't help at all in that area. Best of luck to you.

Yesterday the ducks gave swim lessons to the chickens in a bribe for worms. Today? Chickens are top dog.

HaHa! I kept mine in yesterday. The previous rain I thought they would have more sense and they all looked like drowned sorry things wading through water. They went out today and got all of the bugs trying to come out of the mud to breathe. See if they can put a dent in the mosquitos!

Hello everyone. I hope you are drying up. We actually had sunshine this afternoon! I brought my 5 week old chicks outside for quite a while today. It was so cute watching them scratch. I am looking for some easter eggers or ameraucanas. I have checked the local feed stores and craigs list but I can't seem to find any. Our local feed store was suppose to receive some and they were shorted. Does anyone know if there is a shortage of these breeds in North Texas! I live south west of Fort Worth. Does anyone else know where I can get a few.
