Went back and read all the posts since I last posted in January! (you guys are busy!!!) Thanks for the concern and well wishes. Sorry for the bad stuff that has happened and congrats on the good stuff! Here's the update on what's all happened since then.

My husband and I both start the brain injury program this coming Tuesday. It will be three weeks long and will teach us how to live with the permanent injuries we have sustained.

We have added 6 chicks to our lives who are about a month old and chicken math is getting to me already, but it's my therapists fault. He only got two and we all know you need three for a flock. Anyone know where I can get an easter egger for his third? I might need one or two to add to my flock as well. :)

We got a BoGo on two bottle baby nigerian dwarf tricolor blue eyed goats. My sister has one and I have the other.

If my posts are disjointed or don't make sense, forgive me. I have some trouble following linear thought but I will get it there eventually. So bear with me! I have to say grocery shopping is a blast. I forget that I get things sometimes so I find surprises in the fridge or the cabinet and it's lots of fun!

I'll post pictures as soon as I can figure out how to get the gadgets to work together.

Howdy!
I'm in Copperas Cove. That's on the west side of Fort Hood. I have Welsummers, Blue, Blue Copper, and Black Copper Marans, Marraduna Basque, Lavender Orpingtons, Easter Eggers, Wheaten Ameraucanas, and Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons. I'm a hatch-a-holic, and always have chicks around! I also have hatching eggs for most of these breeds right now.
I am NPIP tested and TAHC registered.

That's awesome. Too bad you are not out here in East Texas with a lot of us.

I had a question and was hoping someone might be able to help me figure out the answer. I bought 6 new chicks from Tractor Supply. They are Yellow-Sex Linked Pullets. I was just trying to figure out what breeds these come from. I know they aren't pure bread but when I looked up Yellow-Sex Link all I get is info on Black and Red Sex Linked Chicks. I just wanted to know what colors to expect.

Those are Leghorns.

It's a sad day here on the home front. My favorite rooster, Lyle ( my icon rooster ), died today. He was killed by another rooster while I wasn't home. Lucky will live, and had seven years on Lyle.... which, even though Lyle out weighed him by three or more pounds didn't help his survival on the young buck. It looks as if he punctured a lung with a broken rib.... Lucky sure put a whoopin' on my poor boy. He will be buried tomorrow under the big oak tree he spent so much time under. RIP old boy.

None of my other roosters fight like these two did. They would cross the yard ( within the limits of the fenced acre ) just to get to each other if they were out at the same time. Apparently I didn't latch Lucky's pen back when I left. He was doing his job protecting his ladies... Lyle returned the favor protecting his hens. I feel terrible..
