Texas

Hi All! I am new to BYC and chicken keeping. I have been reading and researching on BYC for about a year but I just became a member.

I am located Southwest Austin, Texas. We are super excited to be finally be starting our flock. After much research we will be starting 19 chicks:
4 Gold Sex Links Pullets
4 EE / Americaunas Pullets
4 Buff Orpingtons Pullets
6 Welsummer Pullets
1 Welsummer Cockerel
We hope to add a Brabanters and/or Hollands and Ancona ducks in the future.

My other interested include Quilting, Knitting, Beekeeping, Gardening and Canning, Anything Craft Related, and RVing.
My current herd includes my husband, 2 kids, 2 dogs, 1 cat and 1 pet crawfish. My future herd includes all of the before mentioned and bees, goats, ducks, a cow… well, you get the point. It’s a 5 year plan!
Howdy and welcome to BYC! If you're into canning there's several canning threads, and the BYC Gardening Thread is always a hoot.

Hey, I'm new here and new to chickens. It was suggested that I check out this thread in the new members section. My fiancé and I live in Temple, TX (between Austin and Waco). We have our first little flock that includes a Red hen (not sure if Production or Rhode Island), a Black Australorpe pullet, a Barred rock pullet, and a Silver Laced Wyandotte pullet. We also have a Chihuahua, Basset Hound and German Shepherd mix. I'm excited about this new adventure and can't wait to get many more chickens in the future.
