Texas

It becomes addicting but I love watching my chickens

My wife moved some chairs and a small table to the back yard so I hope to sit back there and watch the chickens as soon as I finish this coop and get them in! sure sounds like fun!

Welcome gaitanm24!

Hey folks, I've got some 6 week old Production Reds that I'd be looking to trade for a couple Barred Rocks or Speckled Sussex. Nothing at all wrong with them. They're happy, healthy and eating up a storm! I just want to diversify the flock!
Any help would be great!

Everything is blooming here.  That is when it isn't dumping volumes of water.  The chief competitor for fruit trees here are the tree rats.

Let me just ask, by tree rat you mean squirrel? I am thinking I need to get a big dog to chase the squirrels off. I don't know if I can harm them. I might change my mine when I am fighting them for my fruit.

1. Anyone use mulch in their run?
2. Have new babies coming but old hens have a intermittent sneeze, should I be concerned?

I use leaves in my chicken yard to keep down the weed growth. The girls love them.
I had a chicken with a cold once. The other hens didn't catch it and the vet told me to give her some fresh tomato to up her Vitamin C. She did seem to perk up.

Just went under tornado warning. Am getting nickel size hail, deadly still, no rain. Weird.

Cloud wall coming in. Separating at peak of Redhill. Redhill is tallest point for a few hundred miles in any direction.
