Look what I found under my Broody!?! An Australorp/Game Cross!! And Two chicks hatching and a third One Pipped.

I just helped one hatch. It had a small hole around the pip zone, but couldn't move anymore. So I helped a little, pulled she'll off, waited 15 minutes, went back outside, started pulling membrane, no blood, so I kept going, Chick had already absorbed Everything, the veins, the yolk. It was just too big to turn around in the shell.

That's funny you said Olive Egger, that has been on my top 10 to get!
The BLRW, then the OE, and I would love to have a variety of frizzles and of course many orhers.
I am looking for 2 things mainly.
Beautiful, and unusual looking chickens, and a variety of rainbow color of eggs.
I don't need a purebred flock, I just want cool and unusual looking animals!!

Hey y'all, I'm new to BYC, and someone suggested I join the state thread... so here I am. I live south of ft worth... and idk about y'all, but that wind today was awful. I agree with not needing a purebred flock. Personally, I just want them happy and healthy

I crossed a Black Copper Marans with a Coronation Sussex and most are turning out to be roosters. However, they look like EE's in appearance. Grey or Black with white specles. I wore myself out butchering two roosters last night. They are in the fridge, relaxing the meat, and then to the crock pot. Bad examples of breeders or too many roosters become food.

Are you looking to hatch, or are you looking for chicks. The OE eggs I have now, should generated Gen 2 OE's.

I think it's Spanish moss.
I thought since it's everywhere and free, I could put it in the run that is becoming bare again.
