Texas

One of my baby hens got out the enclosure and my lab go a hold of it and I also have one that is a Rhode Island Red Rooster. I am looking for two hens to replace them. I am looking for two hens in the 4 to 6 week age range. I am willing to trade the rooster for a hen as well. I am looking for a good laying breed. Does anyone know where I can get these two hens?

I live in Mission Texas.

Thanks in advance.
welcome to BYC. You might look on Craig's list for your area. Good luck finding your replacements.

Have you tried your local feed stores?, a lot of them have pulets and laying hens , not just chicks. Where in TX are you located ?.

What kind of hatching eggs were you looking for.

Good luck finding eggs/chickens. Texas has chicken auctions too -- surprise! -- Usually they are associated with livestock auction barns that will auction cattle, goats, horses and other 'small animals' which is where chickens come in.

Welcome to BYC too.

Change of topic...
I need some advice on bathing a chick... I have 3 day old chicks that are in a brooder with 4 day old baby turkeys and 4 day old baby ducks... I have learned that this is not a good combination. The ducks have made a complete mess of the brooder and have gotten all the shavings wet, food is wet and they have gotten some of the wet food on the chicks and turkeys. 2 of the chicks are completely caked in this wet food. I put them back in the incubator as soon as I found them (they looked almost dead). They dried out but the food is coating them to the point that they do not look like they have feathers. I just checked on them a few minutes before I posted this and one had died. The other seems to be doing ok but needs to be cleaned BAD!!! I need all suggestions on how to do this. I do know that one of her eyes is closed and I am thinking this is due to the food that is all over her and it needs to be soaked. I know this is risky but she can't live in the incubator until she grows new feathers.
HELP!!!
TIA
Lisa
P.S. I have since separated the chicks and turkeys from the ducks

Get a Hand Towel, soak it in Warm Water, almost hot,and wipe the chick down. I don't give baths until Fully Feathered.

Anyone in the Canyon Lake, TX Area? Preferably in Startzville.

I am in Search Of Hatching Eggs(any kind) in Startzville. I have a Broody Hen, so a dozen or more eggs will be fine. I have cash, but they must be dropped off at my house, due to not having a car. I am looking for certain breeds, so name off your Breed(s), Preferably Purebred, and Prices for ½dz, 1dz. Thanks for Responding and/or Commenting. We could meet at the Dollar General across from Oblate.

Is there anyone in my area of Spring Branch Texas 78070 that has treated Wry Neck in newly hatched chicks? I've never seen it hatching peafowl or swans but have an ornamental Chinese Yellow Golden pheasant chick that hatched with it last night. I would ideally like for you to take this chick for yourself and save it. Husband says put it down but hate to do so if it can be cured.
PLEASE RESPOND!
