Grats to you and your son! It's an incredible school. Yes, I graduated in the late 1970's with my BS in CS. That's Computer Science. Way back when we were called computer programmers, not code writers. My family is full of veterinarians (all Aggies, of course), and I was supposed to be another one. Still not sure how I got a partial scholarship for CS. Maybe because they needed more little blonde girls in that, then, almost exclusively male field? Eventually went to nursing school and retired after doing that for about 30 years. Gig 'em, Aggies! I bleed maroon.

Had a small place of about 55 acres of good black Brazos bottom land with a tank and a pond, leased the approximately 200 adjoining acres of pasture and riverfront woodland. Trained, bred, boarded horses and dogs. Mostly QH and Rough Collies (none selected as Reveille ) and Great Danes. Also had goats, every kind of poultry, rabbits, ponies, few feeder calves and a milk cow. Dogs and cats. And probably stuff I don't remember. I miss it terribly.

Wow! Lots of Aggies in your family. My son is getting his BS in IT (computers). He got his ring last November...he was so excited! He's already gotten a call from IBM.
We have a 2-acre farm where we raise our chickens. We just have Swedish Flower Hens and Ameraucanas. We have a horse, donkey, 2 dogs and a one-eyed cat (infection caused him to lose his eye). We used to have pygmy goats. I do miss the cute babies hopping around the pasture.

Welcome to all the newcomers!

I am still trying to get use to the new format. It looks like our Texas thread is slowly dying.

We got 1/8" rain today. So much for the tropical storm warnings.

I have a broody hen (Australorp). She is sitting on 8 eggs: 5 EEs and 3 Sussexs. I really wanted some Australorps, but the 2nd night of sitting on the nest, a rat visited. It, of course, ate the Australorp eggs. She is now safe in her broody cage with the door closed at night.
