Texas

We are starting to hear thunder and looks like major rain coming our way (Louisiana). Hope it is a minor feeder band, but we will see. Didn't expect it this earily, just dropped 14 year old daughter off at a friends home for sleep over. At least 2 cars we still have are a Tahoe and a Ford F 150. So if it starts to look bad can put canoe in back and bring her home. Not too worried she is a smart, mature girl. We are very lucky and proud of her. Heck she could probably canoe home, she has been canoeing and white water rafting since age 6 and 8 respectively. First white water trip included mostly class 3's with a least 1 class 4.

I know! I can't believe it is supposed to stay like this through Wednesday! I just heard the storm is moving this way at a whopping 2 miles an hour.
Check out thread Hurricane Advice for a few tips that may help if you have flooding issues. Good luck and stay safe. May want to look for floatables in case. We have always kept life jackets even when we didn't have any kind of boat, animals can be transported in ice chests if necessary. Ice chests also make good floatables for humans.

I know I already posted this, however, if you have to move into your attic, take an axe or something you can cut a hole in your roof if you have to, also your eaves are the easiest area to kick out, if you need to kick your way out. Bring drinking water with you and if you have a fire arm you may want it as well, as wild animals will also be looking to ride the flood out somewhere dry. You may want to be able to protect you and yours from predators. I wouldn't want to share my attic with an alligator!
