Texas

Hello guys, we are planning to take a road trip this weekend from Houston towards dallas, wondering if there are any good chicken or other bird farms where we can stop to buy some good breeds, any good suggestions?
I’ve both ordered from and traveled to Ideal Poultry in Cameron, and I’ve always had a favorable experience. :thumbsup

Hi all! I just found this Texas thread. We live in Pearland...just south of Houston. Just got our first chickens coming up on 3 weeks ago. They’re nearly 4mo old. We’ve got 1 light brahma - Jasmine, 1 black australorp - Becky, and 1 ameracauna - Pebbles. They’re currently in a small temporary coop and run while we build out our big permanent coop and run. Can’t wait until it’s finished and we can add a few more chickens to the mix!

Hi y'all! Yay a Texas thread :D We life in Bandera, tx which is just west of San Antonio. We currently have 2 barred rock, 2 Columbian wyondottes, 2 americanas, 1 light Brahma, 1 jersey giant, and 12 easter eggers. Our coop is 12 by 16 that I made out of pallets, sweat and hammer throwing lol with a 12 by 25 run attached. I'm super glad I found this site :jumpy

Welcome to the Texas thread, I remmember driving past that exit alot when I was making the DFW to Ft SAM Commute. Does Bandera have any kind of a claim to fame like West and Colaches? Also isn't Bandera a county too?

Howdy! I’m new here - currently living in Humble (northeast Houston) and house hunting in Magnolia to move there this spring. Doing lots of research since our HOA here allows zero chickens. Boo!

We are looking at Indigo Lake Estates & surrounding areas and I would love to chat with anyone familiar with Magnolia Tx chicken laws!

We are located in Mount Vernon, Texas and have a very small flock that we free range - Joel Salatin style in moveable open-aired pins. We are looking to add to our flock. Does anyone have 8 week or older birds for sale near Mount Vernon? If so, will you message me with pricing and what breeds you have? Thank you!

I moved last April to Cleveland (Tx) FROM Magnolia because of HOA laws. I was definitely looking for “unrestricted” property which is VERY hard to find there. Plus the traffic on 1488 is now just as bad as 1960. I don’t miss it at all. And now I even have a Rooster!!

Hi Rhonda here, I'm a newbie, I live by College Station,Texas and am trying to figure out this site, but gad I found it, looking for a cabinet incubator, I raise chickens, geese, ducks and guineas, thanks for having me!
