Ok so my local news ran this:

It just made me think up so many jokes cause boats and votes rhyme.

Still waiting on how your parents house did in Lake Charles @RUNuts I hope all turned out well.
We aren't bugging anyone for pictures. Mom's house is waiting on an insurance adjuster tomorrow. Unlivable. She has (had?) renters that are out of the house now. This house was new in the 60's and has survived or been patched through all the years. Amazing when I think about it.

Brother-in-law's trailer lost most of the roof. Lots of damage from winds and the rains. Glad we missed it, but sorry for those that didn't.

Thanks for asking and everyone is rebuilding like Houston did.

Sean do you still recognize your home town outside of the courthouse? I drove through Plano a few years ago and those aren't the streets you would let a child ride a bike with a banana seat any more. God we aren't that old. My 1970's self would have gotten my parents into some serious trouble today. Even my hormonal 16 year old self took a 10 speed bike down to Richardson for a girl.
I haven't been back in 36 years ....so yeah, I don't think I could recognize any of the places I use to haught! For the first 5 years of my life, we lived in Richardson! I remember playing in the farmer's wheat fields behind our house back then...it quickly became residential just before we moved to the farm North of McKinney, in 1967. Even our farm has been developed now! :( (according to my brother) he still lives up in the area....Celeste, Texas, use to be our nearest neighbor was a mile away! I use to hunt and fish anywhere I wanted too back then, I have hunted all the way up to Van Alstyne and to Gunther! I dought I would be able to to that today...kids today have no idea what that was like! BTW, I had permission to hunt and fish anywhere I had a hankering to go!
Just sad kids won't ever be able to experice those kinds of entertainment, again.

Well I don't miss all of the chiggers. I do miss grabbing a rifle or fishing pole though and heading off to adventure. Our parents were either smart or neglectful in those days. House rules for all the neighbor kids was you don't come home until the street lights turn on in Plano kid free for the adults. For me in Sherman it was kinder I could come in at sunset but didn't have to stay in. Of course I met loads of nature there and got real good at snake handling. Not that I keep those things but I tried back then.

Hi y'all! I have been a member of BYC for a long time, but Frisco decided to get all fancy so I had to give up my chickens. Now I live in East Texas, and have a whole crew of animals and chickens, and am happy to be back! I was born in Ft. Worth, and have lived everywhere in this state. Glad to be here in the thread!
