DFW's weather byproduct this morning from the outstretched spiral of Delta's early afternoon arms.....

No rain. However. Something a bit more amusing:

And to think, when I 1st was woken up by dogs to go outside I could nearly see the coop and couldn't see that 10' wide gate.

I do hope everyone is still safe.

I'm no hurricane expert but it looks like Delta is going to take a similar path as Laura did? I'm sticking my neck out here and gonna say it makes land fall at Sabine Pass!
Also, check out the rotation of a disturbance in the Caribbean, just south of Jamaica.

Click on 120 frames and Band: 13 - IR clean longwave.

Its still there and still rotating

It was a foggy morning. We got no rain whatsoever, but dang, I feel for our LA peeps. Twice in one year is just kicking someone while they're down. It sucks.
My 20 chicks and 8 poults are doing great. We had a loss of three when I moved them to the nursery coop - 2 poults and one chick, but none of the remaining are even giving the heat source a glance. They all want to roost, both on the actual roost an on the windowsill. I'm also happy that my incubated roosters are doing great. A friend took 3 of the 8, leaving me with 5. Of the 5, 3 are already showing themselves to be excellent flock roosters (not raping hens in a group, hanging out with both hens and the older Roos during the day and actually alerting to aerial predators) 2 are being idiots. Figures that those two are my favorite color-wise (yellow, feather legged and plymoth rock banded.)

2 + 2 = 4 ... Everytime... Unless 2 is actually a value higher than 2.0......

Discovered that over the last 6 days we have yet another batch of chicken drama.
Fowl Pox!

Then discovered that something small as been climbing up the front side of the run and has chewed thru the deer netting under the roofing to get into the run.

Yeeeehhahhh.

Found one of two broodies today and she wasn't sitting eggs. Still have one MIA and plenty of tall grass hiding spots. She is now tossed in prison for breaking and suspecting the other one is in an overgrown bush infiltrated with tall grass in the run. I really have to go on a hunt as she has been missing a week or two and I want no more chicks. Luckily the broody was not found with lawn equipment.
